Oxfordshire Teacher Training celebrates the first birthday of its podcast today! 19th November. Starting off with the aim to support trainee teachers and their mentors, the podcast quickly gained a reputation for excellent guests and thought-provoking explorations of some of the most important topics in education. Host Matthew Coatsworth said, ‘I’ve been thrilled to talk with some key figures in education nationally, but equally to spend time discussing with colleagues within Oxfordshire. It’s been wonderful to see how the podcast has been picked up by the NASBTT – the National Association for School Based Teacher Training and by SchoolsWeek, who chose it as one of their podcasts of the week after just four episodes. I’d urge anyone interested in the world of education to have a listen.’

Guests on the podcast have included the chair of the Department for Education’s Initial Teacher Education content group to discuss the new framework for initial teacher training, Professor Sam Twiselton, and Tom Sherrington, author of The Learning Rainforest, with forthcoming episodes including interviews with Afua Hirsch and Anita Devi.
