“Equality is a hugely important part of teaching, and this diversity day has not disappointed! The guest speakers were excellent and made me reflect on whether or not my own efforts at diversifying my year 1 history topic were merely tokenism, or came from a more deep-seated belief that history shouldn’t just be about white cis hetero men. It also made me reflect on unconscious bias, and the myriad small effects that it can have, which in turn can lead to a lack of equality by default.”
