SALARIED PROGRAMME (Full-time)

  • intensive ‘front-loaded’ Summer Programme in July, with time in central training and placement schools
  • start delivering successful lessons more rapidly due to front-loaded approach
  • second placement on a weekly basis for most of the year
  • will have sole responsibility for some teaching in your main placement from September
  • ongoing central and subject specialist training throughout the year
  • exceptional support from placement schools and central SCITT team
  • have a contract of employment and are paid for the period of your programme so cannot access student finance or national bursaries, but have no tuition fees for the QTS programme
  • can choose to undertake the PGCE option at a cost of £1100

PLEASE NOTE: From 2021 our salaried programme will only be available for candidates who are already supported by a school. This may mean that you are currently working in a school already and they would like to offer you a salaried placement, or you may have developed a relationship with a local school through volunteering, being on the PTA or as a governor, and have discussed and had agreement to you completing the salaried programme with that school. Whatever the relationship, your supporting school must have informed us of their intention to employ you on the salaried programme and support your training on this route BEFORE you submit your application. We will not be able to accept applications from candidates who do not yet have a support school, if you apply without this then we will need to reject or withdraw your application.

If you are interested in applying for the salaried programme and are also already supported by a placement school then please get in touch so that we can follow up with you and your Headteacher directly.
